Khao Chi Chan
Khao Chi Chan, also known as the Buddha Mountain, stands as one of Pattaya's most exceptional religious attractions. The mountain rock face at this magnificent site showcases a giant Buddha sculpture that honors King Rama IX on his 50th year as king. The image measures 30 meters in height and occupies 70 meters in width as it shows a Buddha figure in a seated "Earth Touching" position depicting his moment of enlightenment.
This Khao Chi Chan Buddha posture is the most frequently depicted part of Thai artistic traditions. Advanced laser technology enabled the production of engraving, and most operations took place at night to maximize the illumination of light and dark elements. The carver applied gold to the Buddha's shapes after finishing the sculpture.
The entire location is beautiful because of its gardens and the peaceful environment. Lotus-covered ponds combined with saffron-robed monks walking in the temple compound generate a spiritual atmosphere at the location. Khao Chi Chan provides visitors with a serene hideout from Pattaya's busy atmosphere to become a prominent destination for both local and international travelers.
